Arthur Kenneth Britton, aged about 24, moved to Canada in 1914, with his three brothers to become homesteaders.
He and Violet married  on 24 February 1920 in Scotforth, Lancs. and t
hey went to Cereal, Alberta to farm.
They started their family in Canada, where they had two children:
    Ida Catherine Britton 1921
    David Henry Britton 1923-1997

They returned to England and their daughter Sonia Regina was born, (1924 - 1985), in Lancaster.

The family returned to England to allow the children to start school.  They bought Pin Hill Farm, in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Maurice can barely remember visiting Pin Hill Farm, but in one ‘hay time’ he recalls that David had an accident with a special hay lift device, for transferring hay from the lorry into the barn.
The farm was probably sold for industrial development.
In 1932 Ida attended Brackley High School and then in 1939 she went to Derby Teacher Training College, at Elverston Castle.

Arthur Kenneth died on 27 September 1958, aged 69, in West Moncton, Taunton, Devon

An ancestor of Arthur was Assistant Surgeon Simon Gage Britton, who was on HM Schooner PICKLE at Trafalgar.

He is buried in Ilfracombe, Devon.
