Crossing Morecambe Bay

Prior to the mid C19 the low tide routes across Morecambe Bay were important.
It has been believed within the close family that Richard could well have used this route when he moved from the Bee Hive to Waterside Farm sometime in the 1840s.
In 2013, Lancashire Life published
an article on the current Queen's Guide.

The Mackereth party crossing Morecambe Bay, from Arnside  to Kents Bank adjacent to Grange-over- Sands, led by the Queen’s Guide - Cedric Robinson
